Red Robin Gourmet Burgers

November 2013

In the fall of 2013, the executives at Red Robin contacted Seattle Glassblowing Studio with a special order project.  They were interested in having a realistic burger created to look like their signature "Burnin' Love" burger.  I thought to myself, "What cool project!  Sculpting two of my favorite things, burgers & fries..YUM!".  So, we did.  We went straight to work layering and sculpting each element of the glass burger as if we were glass master chefs and they LOVED IT! The burger weighs a ton, but it looks just as delicious as the real thing.

Oprah Magazine Feature

January 2013

In the fall of 2012, Seattle Glassblowing Studio came accross a commission for a special glass teapot.  The specifics for this commission included that the teapot must be oval in shape, hollow in the center, approximately 16" in height, have a functional spout and a removable top. Oh, and it had to be completed within 2 weeks!  I took a few moments to think about the issues I could run into, brainstormed the best strategy, and decided our team should take on the project.  The client was contacted and we waited to see if our bid was approved.

The next day, there was a buzz in the air at the studio.  It was around lunchtime that I was informed that our bid for the teapot project was approved and the piece was to be created for Oprah Magazine!

Lucky for me and my team at Seattle Glassblowing Studio, the finished product arrived safely and on-time in New York, providing me with my very first piece of artwork displayed in a public print media.

When "Eye" Rule the World

June 2011

In early Summer of 2011, the GAS conference returned to Seattle, WA for the first time in eight years.  I had an opportunity to present my own work in a gallery show at Seattle Glasblowing Studio, so I began brainstorming unique "eye"deas.

My artistic brain sees the world a little differently and I have always enjoyed word play and corney jokes, so I transfromed every day items and phrases into an interactive glass show.  I created just over 70 unique "eye" inspired creations, including: "Eye"Pod, "Eye"Tunes, "Eye"Phone featured in the picture to the right.  Visitors were able to make their guesses as to what each sculpture was titled and then flip a description card for the answer.  It was amazing to see the smiles and joy it brought to visitors from all over the world!
